NAVFAC Hawaii has awarded a $46.6 million design and build project to dck-ecc Pacific Guam.
According to the contract dck-ecc Pacific Guam will be responsible for the construction of the 30,709 sq.ft FY12 MILCON P-822 Marine Corps Air Station Operations Complex. It will also construct the Aircraft Fire and Rescue Station covering an area of 17,104 sq.ft and aircraft apron and other sites over an area of 348,000 sq.ft at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe. The construction of all these facilities is likely to be completed by September 2014.
The team from dck-ecc has combined features for LEED silver certification such as energy efficiency, security and an efficient working environment into the design of the facilities. The team has also implemented three specific design features that were requested by the Navy and 17 other enhanced features in existing facilities in order to improve the energy efficiency and ownership costs of each building. The team set up by dck-ecc includes members from Lane Construction Company, BE&K Construction Company and Capstone Design Partners Guam. Design support was provided by RIM Architects, CDS International, Atkins and BRPH Incorporated.
