ECC was one of four contractors recently awarded a 5-year (base plus four option years), $900 million total joint acquisition task order value (JATV) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Global Multiple Award Construction (GMAC) contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific.
Manjiv S. Vohra, PE, ECC's President & CEO, comments on the award, "ECC has been a part of NAVFAC Pacific's team for many years, and we are pleased to continue to support their mission through this very important contract. ECC's experience and business model of delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions is a natural fit to achieve the goals and expectations of the GMAC contract."
Consistent with ECC's design-build execution model, ECC intends to maximize the use of local employees, specialty subcontractors, and vendors in impacted communities and historically under-utilized areas according to best value practices.
"We see great potential in the $900 million ceiling of the GMAC contract to help NAVFAC fulfill its share of the Department of Defense's (DoD) commitment to Congress to preserve and create jobs," continues Mr. Vohra. "We are proud that NAVFAC has selected our team as a trusted partner to continue to support their important infrastructure needs in the years ahead."
ECC is the Prime Contractor for the GMAC contract, supported by five engineer-architect firms including: Architects Hawaii, Ltd.; Brown and Caldwell; C.H. Guernsey & Company; Gannett-Fleming, Inc.; PBS&J Corporation; and Stanley Consultants, Inc. The team's defined roles and robust capacity ensures projects will quickly move into and through the design phase to construction.
Work performed under the contract includes new construction, repair, and renovation projects, including utilities, waterfront, and medical facility construction, as well as energy and water conservation projects at multiple DoD installations worldwide.
