Stoutenborough Receives Approval for Mariner's Pointe Mixed-Use Development

Stoutenborough, a mixed-use architectural design firm, has received approval from the Newport Beach City Council to start construction of the Mariner's Pointe development.

Mariner's Pointe development

The mixed-use project, which measures 20,000 sq ft, will come up in the corner of Newport Beach’s Mariner's Mile.

The Mariner's Pointe development will contain a restaurant and retail space with a three-level parking garage, like that of a Mediterranean village. Ridgeway Development from Newport Beach is developing the project.

The property is inherited by Glenn and Eva Verdult. They will establish their Winston's Jewelry shop on the site along with retail and restaurants. The Verdults said that they have decided to keep the property for many generations with the family.

Ed Selich, a council member, said that the project will enrich Mariner's Mile. Rush Hill, also a council member, added that the development is well established and the positioning and design of the project is what the council had been requesting for many years.

Architect J Todd Stoutenborough said that making a project that serves the owners, the tenants, the environment and the community on this location was a challenge that needed meticulous planning and design.

The Mariner's Mile location, seen as an area of disrepair, had been in discussion for more than 15 years, and now the mixed-use project will construct a high-quality retail destination.
