Bridge Pointe Development, LLC announced detailed plans for its new luxury waterfront community in New Bern, NC. DeGraffen Riverfront Residences & Yacht Club, anticipated as one of the most elite, luxury waterfront communities on the East Coast, will be located at the confluence of the Trent and Neuse Rivers across from historic New Bern, North Carolina. The $250 million condominium development, consisting of four buildings and a private 150-slip marina, will begin construction in 2007.
Joe Thomas, managing partner for the development group, said that the company searched for locations in several states along the southeast coast. "New Bern had the perfect site. The property meets all of our plan requirements and it's set in a community that maintains a strong history, culture and vision for the future. Since its concept, we've received tremendous support from the city and its residents. We couldn't have asked for more."
"DeGraffen is a great example of how we're blending the past and the present in our ongoing revitalization efforts," said Susan Moffat-Thomas, Executive Director of the Swiss Bear Downtown Development Corporation. "The economic impact will be significant. And, we expect that this addition will strengthen and diversify our retail base, which will greatly benefit New Bern's residents and visitors."
Bridge Pointe Development is focusing on presenting the highest quality residential offering possible. "Most developers' upgrades will be our standards," stated Thomas. Two- to four bedroom luxury residences will be available varying from 1,200 to more than 3,000 square feet in size. Prices will range from $600,00 to $1 million each. The development will offer lavish, resort-style amenities and the marina will include a yacht club and Harbor Master Complex. A water taxi will be established to quickly and easily transport residents across the river to downtown shopping, restaurants and cultural activities.
Architect Gary Cline, President of Cline Design Associates in Raleigh, NC, was selected to create the building's design that complements the historical landscape of the New Bern area. Bovis Lend Lease, also of Raleigh, will lead future construction efforts.
