Interbuild and Voltimum Join Together to Create a Dedicated Centre

Interbuild 2007 has joined forces with leading electrical and lighting internet portal, Voltimum, to create a dedicated centre for the trade during the five day event.

With 10 industry heavyweights already confirmed - including Philips, Draka and Osram - the new Voltimum Centre in Hall 3/3a has reached capacity and is set to put the spark back into the electrical and lighting scene at the UK’s biggest building show (28 October – 1 November at Birmingham’s NEC).

“With Voltimum on board and more electrical and lighting companies signed-up than ever before, we’re confident that the centre will become one of the show’s biggest attractions,” says Interbuild Event Director Gordon Thomas.

Also starring under the Voltimum banner are Dimplex, Adaptaflex, Cooper Lighting, Applied Energy, Legrand, Eaton and Kew Technik. The specially created area will feature a meeting lounge, information centre and seminar theatre where the trade can come together to tackle issues ranging from energy efficiency and renewable energy through to security, power and control.

“It’s especially exciting as this is the first time that Interbuild has partnered with Voltimum,” says Gordon. “Having such big brands back in electrical and lighting is a fantastic feat for us and a terrific testament to the team’s renewed focus on this area.”

Now live across eight European countries – France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Austria and Ireland, as well as the UK – Voltimum is the first online facility of its kind, used regularly by over a quarter of a million people across Europe as a comprehensive product data source for estimating, quotations, specifying and O&M manuals.

“Interbuild allows our members to put themselves in front of some of building and construction’s most influential decision makers,” says Margaret Fitzsimons, Managing Director at Voltimum. “It’s also a great opportunity for us to put our sector expertise into practice and work with show organisers to bring electrical and lighting back to Interbuild in a big way.”
