Data Centre Developer Stream Data Centres has commenced construction of a private data centre in Woodlands, Texas. The data centre covers a total area of 73,320 sq. ft. built in compliance with the Miami-Dade County Building Code. This is the company’s fifth data centre in Texas over the last four years.
The Stream Private Data Centre will have a critical load capacity of 3.375 MW and can be expanded to 6.75 MW over 30,000 sq. ft. with all the required pads and conduits in place. Stream uses a 2N electrical /N+1 mechanical configuration and supplies dual feed power from two substations. Multiple fiber providers serve the carrier neutral facility through private fibre conduits.
The building provides the option of being controlled centrally or divided into three Private Data Centre Suites that are independent. Each data centre contains 10,000 sq. ft. of raised floor data hall, redundant private telecommunications rooms, private disaster recovery office space and a private utility yard. Each private data centre has the capacity of 1,125 KW of 2N critical load that can be expanded through independent cooling and power.
The private data centre is expected to be fully operational by April 1 2013. Stream Data Centre completed the construction of a Private Data Centre in San Antonio, Denver and Dallas Market recently.
