Peab has been contracted to a turnkey contract to build the rail line Hemfosa-Tungelsta in Haninge with double track. The client is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract amounts to about SEK 229 million.
The project also includes the construction of two new railway bridges, two new pedestrian and cycle bridges, and a new station building on the existing platform in Tungelsta.
The expansion of double track on the route Hemfosa-Tungelsta is the final decision stage in efforts to improve travel for rail commuters on Nynäsbanan between Nynäshamn and Stockholm Central.
- We are pleased and proud to have gained the confidence to expand the railway. We will use our past experience and our expertise developed in already implemented railway projects, says Bengt Johansson, Regional Manager at Peab.
Construction is scheduled for December 2014 and the project is scheduled for completion during 2017.
