KBR Building to Renovate and Expand Providence Hospital Northeast in Columbia S.C

US-based KBR Building Group has announced that it will take up the expansion and renovation of Providence Hospital Northeast, which is located in Columbia S.C.

KBR will be responsible for renovating the main hospital building to a major extent and constructing a new MRI service, canopy and main entrance to the hospital. The present front lobby, post-anesthesia care unit and the central sterile processing area will be expanded.

Other areas that will be renovated include emergency, admissions department, surgery, energy plant and op/recovery. The hospital will have additional capacity of 38 new beds after the renovation is completed. According to the President of KBR Building, Phillip Southerland, KBR Building Group was chosen by Providence Hospital Northeast due to its specialised offering and experience in the healthcare market and safety record maintained by the company. The site for this renovation and expansion project is close to the company’s regional office located in Greenville. KBR Building Group specialised in providing construction and engineering services to infrastructure, power, industrial, hydrocarbon, energy, commercial and industrial sectors. Recently the company won a contract to provide operational support capability to the Ministry of Defence of the UK.
