US-based lighting control systems provider Enlighted has announced that it will supply its lighting control systems for 12 buildings at Menlo Business Park.
The project covers an area of 500,000 square foot and is expected to create energy savings of more than $400,000 along with a £100,000 or more reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per year. Other participants in the project which is being managed by Tarlton Properties include EnerENOC, Progressive Lighting and Energy Solutions and Global Energy Partners.
Various PG&E third party programmes such as Ecology Action’s Right Lights and the Technical Incentives for Open Automated Demand Response from Global Energy Partners, Willdan Engineering’s California High Performance Lighting Programme and California Public Utilities Commission have been integrated into the project. Intelligent lighting systems provided by Enlighted have the capability to sense ambient light, temperature and occupancy. It also provides centralised and decentralised control of lighting fixtures according to the specifications of customers. As a result, occupants feel comfortable and high energy savings are achieved. The sensor network of the company can be integrated with other building energy efficiency systems such as demand response and HVAC to further increase energy savings.
According to Gregg Dixon, SVP of marketing and sales at EnerENOC the combination of AutoDR technology and real-time energy data is a powerful tool for organisations such as Menlo Business Park to achieve cost and energy savings. He also added that based on this technology, facility managers can maximize rebate benefits, implement tiered pricing and control energy consumption proactively.
