HOCHTIEF Solutions Receives Road and Railway Contract from Norwegian Company

HOCHTIEF Solutions will expand the road and railway project E6 Dovrebanen, which is located to the north of Oslo.

According to the EUR210 million contract, the company will work in partnership with another Norwegian company called VeidekkeEntreprenor. HOCHITIEF Solutions will be responsible for 40% of the investment, which amounts to EUR 84 million.

The road and railway covering a distance of 5.6 km by road and 6.8 km by railway will be constructed for the National Rail Administration Jernbaneverket of Norway and the Public Roads Administration Vegvesen. The project consists of two highway tunnels and one railway tunnel which will accommodate a number of features such as environment and noise protection.

Once the project is completed, the road section and the railway section of the project will be able to handle high speeds and large volumes for transportation. Towards this end, the railway line will be constructed with a high speed link. Work on the project is scheduled to begin by April 2012 and likely to be completed by 2016.

According to Ullrich Reinke, who is a member of the Executive Board of HOCHTIEF Solutions, this project will enable the company to enhance its infrastructure and establish a strong position in the market for transportation infrastructure in Europe.
