Parnon Gathering, a crude oil logistics company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has announced that it has commenced construction on its Great Salt Plains Pipeline. The project which started in early March is expected to complete in July.
A new 8” pipeline is to be laid from Cherokee to Cushing in Oklahoma, a distance of around 115 mi. Oil will be transported from production in southern Kansas, and western and central Oklahoma to Cushing. The pipeline will have the capacity to transport 20,000 barrels of crude oil per day and with further upgradation it will be able to move 35,000 barrels in a day.
The CEO of Parnon, Paul Adams, stated that the project is making considerable progress. The steel pipe sections for the project have been manufactured and delivered and the approvals and rights of way have been obtained from Government authorities. Work on the pipeline construction and Parnon’s new terminal are underway, he added.
Parnon has entered into a construction contract with Global Pipeline Construction for the Great Salt Plains Pipeline project. IPS Engineering has been signed on to take care of the project management. The IPS experts in the fields of engineering, construction, health and safety, environmental affairs, security, and community affairs will be in charge of conducting audits, quality control and inspections every day.
