Architecture students will create facades that are energy efficient as part of a four day workshop at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO).
The workshop is being organised by AHO and Hydro and intends to enhance the knowledge of aluminium and glass in the usage of facades for environment and energy friendly architecture, in second-year students. Hydro hopes to bring in its expertise in energy positive buildings and zero emissions so that it can be shared with future architects.
For the purpose of the workshop, the students are divided into 10 groups, and are required to come up with their own energy positive solutions for construction of facades. They may use aluminium, glass and insulation materials for the purpose. The students are required to present their solutions on March 1st and these solutions will be inspected and observed by the CEO Svein Richard Brantzaeg. Major focus of the workshop is to develop interdisciplinary knowledge amongst students.
According to Catherine Vigander, who is the General Manager and Lecturer in AHO, the students are also expressing keen interest and enthusiasm in exploring new solutions that will contribute positively to the environment.
