Crescent Real Estate Holdings has announced that three of its office properties of Class A have received LEED certifications from the US Green Building Council. The certification has been awarded under the Existing Buildings (EB) rating system.
The three properties include the Peakview Tower located within the Denver Tech Centre, Johns Manville Plaza in Denver CBD and 707 17th street located downtown. While Johns Manville Plaza received EB Gold status, the other two properties received EB Silver status. All the remaining properties of the company are likely to receive LEED certification by 2012.
According to the MD of Leasing for the company’s Denver portfolio, John Zogg, the certification received for the three buildings are driven by the rising demand from customers for LEED certified buildings.
The Johns Manville Plaza is Class A office property measuring 675,400 sq.ft and rising up to 29 stories. The company plans to enhance the building by increasing the seating and other retail facilities at the building by 2012. 707, 17th street is located next to the John Manville Plaza and measures 550,000 sq.ft and holds a total of 22 floors.
Peakview Tower is a 10-story building which is built around an area of 264,149 sq.ft. Important customers of the building include Dean Evans & Associates, American Title Services and W.J. Bradley Mortgage Capital Corp. LEED has been developed by the US Green Building Council in order to provide a readymade framework and guidelines for the identification and implementation of green designs that are practical and easy to maintain.
