AECOM Technology has secured an expansion contract from Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) for completing the phase II of the light rail extension program. The budget of this extension contract is US$17 million.
According to the expansion contract, the company will offer system combination, various controls of the project and support services by the employees as DART is finishing the extension of its Blue and Orange light rail lines of 20 mi.
John M. Dionisio, who is the CEO and Chairman of AECOM Technology, has commented that the company is priveleged by this prospect of persisting the close partnership with Dallas Area Rapid Transit, the main customer of AECOM for over 20 years. The company is expecting to provide new ground-breaking solutions to improve the mass transit systems of Dallas.
Corresponding to the latest project of the light rail extension of DART, the support services and the project control of the company have played a pivotal role in facilitating the customer to open the $1.8 billion-worth, 28 mi Green Line as per plan and within the budget in December 2010.
This present light rail contract commenced by AECOM in 2002 is worth US$82 million.
