SNC-Lavalin, a globally known engineering and construction group, declared that it has strengthened its environmental capability by acquiring MDH Engineered Solutions, a Saskatoon, Saskatchewan- based engineering, consulting and research company.
MDH Engineered Solutions established in 1980 has been offering ecological engineering consulting, hydro geological, geotechnical and geo-environmental services to segments such as utility and government divisions, transportation, oil and gas and mining. The company employs around 175 permanent officials and has offices in Esterhazy, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon in Saskatchewan and Fort McMurray and Edmonton in Alberta.
According to Jim Burke, SNC-Lavalin Group’s Executive Vice-President, the acquisition of MDH Engineered Solutions will enable the company to amplify its offerings to the oil & gas and mining sectors of Saskatchewan and brings in key resources that will assist the company to realize its important objectives. He added that the joint performance of the two companies will sustain the objective of the company to provide a range of environmental services to its internal as well as external clients.
