Next Generation Lighting Supply (NGL® Supply), a leading provider of solid state LED lighting products for residential, business and commercial applications including signage, is an integral lighting supplier to the first home in Park City, UT to receive the Platinum Award from LEED Certification.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or "LEED" is a certification program and nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings developed by the U.S. Green Building Council in 2000.
"The stringent lighting requirements included both high energy efficiency and performance to the discerning tastes of the homeowners," said Kennie Alton, President and CEO of NGL® Supply. "Our current products were just the right mix of custom and off-the-shelf bulbs and luminaires to complete the interior and exterior lighting of the house."
The lighting scheme used alternating current (AC) LED technology eliminating the need for a power supply resulting in longer life and higher reliability.
Kevin O'Meara, homeowner was quoted as saying "the high efficiency LED lighting used is part of a well engineered plan to create a home that harvests energy, utilizes solar and highly effective insulation" and went on to say "we may never see an energy bill again."
