Bird Construction Income Fund Executes Contract to Build New Schools in Alberta

Bird Construction Income Fund announces that an operating subsidiary of the Fund has executed a design and construction contract with B2L Partnership to construct three new schools in Edmonton and seven new schools in the Calgary region of Alberta.

On March 16, 2010, the Fund announced that Bird is a member of the contracting joint venture to the B2L Partnership consortium that was selected as the preferred proponent to design, build, finance and maintain the schools for the Province of Alberta. Since that time, the consortium has reached financial close. The project will commence immediately and completion is expected in the summer of 2012.

Bird's role relates to the design and construction of the schools in joint venture with Graham Construction.
