Littelfuse, Inc. the global leader in circuit protection, today announced that it has won Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M) magazine’s “Product of the Year” award in its category for the PGR-5330 advanced ground fault and resistor monitoring relay.
The PGR-5330 increases safety and reliability by continuously monitoring the facility electrical system for damaging ground faults or neutral grounding resistor problems. These dangerous conditions directly impact the safety of personnel or the reliability of the electrical equipment.
“The PGR-5330 ground fault and resistor monitoring relay is a critical component in a building’s electrical system. Without it, a resistor failure can go undetected until there is serious damage to equipment or personnel, and by then, it’s too late,” explains Tony Locker, Product Manager, Littelfuse POWR-GARD Protection Relay Products. “The PGR-5330 provides that vital early warning that can signal a serious problem before it happens. It also offers pulsing capability to help the user quickly locate the problem.”
The PGR-5330 is a microprocessor-based relay that filters out system noise from modern electronics. It can connect to Ethernet, DeviceNet™ or Profibus® networks and enables plant managers increase plant efficiency by safely maintaining critical operations and avoiding damaging ground faults.
The EC&M Product of the Year competition honors exceptional contributions in the area of new product development for the electrical industry. “Our goal is to design smart products that improve electrical safety and productivity for our customers. We are thrilled to be the Product of the Year winner in our category,” says Maureen Janosch, Marketing Manager of Littelfuse POWR-GARD Electrical Business Unit.
