San Diego headquartered Sullivan International Group, Inc. (SULLIVAN), managing partner in Sullivan-Weston Services Joint Venture (JV), announced today award of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE), Brooks City Base, TX. AFCEE awarded ten contracts to small businesses worth up to $350 million over a 5-year ordering period.
The Environmental, Construction and Operations & Services 2009 (ECOS09) contract vehicle includes construction, repair, and demolition work for both traditional and environmental projects in support of AFCEE’s worldwide mission. It will also provide operations and services for environmental conservation, compliance, pollution prevention and clean-up activities, and will include ordnance removal and disposal, and energy management.
Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®) and SULLIVAN entered into a Mentor-Protégé relationship under the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program in October 2008. This win represents the first prime contract award for the JV as part of the Mentor-Protégé relationship.
According to John Kirschbaum, Sr. VP and Managing Partner of Sullivan International, “The win of the ECOS contract by the Sullivan-Weston JV is a very important complement to SULLIVAN’s recent win of the AFCEE Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction (WERC) contract, and clearly secures SULLIVAN’s future as an AFCEE and Air Force service provider. Further, this win will enable SULLIVAN and WESTON to fully engage their partnership and extend it into the realm of complete and sophisticated project and program execution.”
Patrick G. McCann, WESTON President and CEO added, “This win is important to WESTON as it not only shows our commitment to the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program, but improves our strengths and capabilities in working with Small Businesses. We have enjoyed the opportunity to share our business and operational expertise, and in turn have benefited by learning how to build integrated Small Business teams and leveraging their success as partners.”
