York Wallcoverings Named Winner of Progressive Manufacturing 100 Award for 2010

QlikTech, a leading business intelligence company, today announced that its customer, York Wallcoverings (York), is a winner of the 2010 Progressive Manufacturing 100 (PM100) Awards, presented by Managing Automation Media, a Thomas Publishing Company, LLC publication.

York, the oldest and largest wallcovering manufacturer in the U.S., was named to the PM100 for its use of QlikView business intelligence to improve production processes. Since 2006, the company has used QlikView analysis to guide manufacturing decisions, reducing production waste by 45% and saving more than $2.4 million USD. York has also realized additional savings such as reducing machine changeover and setup times by 50%. The company first implemented QlikView for sales and executive reporting in 2002, which supported its expansion to more than 60 countries with approximately 16,000 SKUs.

"It's important to know your business and QlikView allows us to do that," said Pat O'Connell, VP Operations at York.  "QlikView moved us from a data vault of Excel spreadsheets to a visual map of all our enterprise data.  QlikView is as embedded in our business today as any technology could be."

Judged by an independent panel of publication management, industry analysts, industry executives and past winning companies, the PM100 recognizes 100 projects that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines critical to business success in the years ahead. York and the other PM100 winners will be presented with their awards at the Progressive Manufacturing Awards Gala to be held at the 6th Annual Progressive Manufacturing Summit 2010, May 3-5, at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.

"We congratulate York on using the information made available with QlikView to drive tangible, quantifiable business results to impact the bottom line," said Tim Wassman, President of QlikTech Americas. "York is a perfect example of a company that seized an opportunity during the recession to transform its business and become more competitive in the global marketplace."
