ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), an international consulting and engineering company, today announced that they have been awarded an engineering services contract to help ensure dam and levee safety, worth approximately $6 million, by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) St. Louis District.
Under the terms of the USACE Indefinite Delivery Contract, ARCADIS will provide comprehensive services for all aspects of dam and levee safety performance and for ensuring the stability of civil works structures. These services include monitoring, periodic safety inspections, preparing inspection reports, and the maintenance, repair, replacement, and enhancement of existing monitoring systems plus the design and installation of new systems. ARCADIS will also be responsible for data acquisition and transmission, data analysis, and designing reliable instrumentation hardware and software systems.
"This contract is another example of our ability to offer full-service support for initiatives to protect the integrity and safety of civil engineering infrastructure, particularly dams and levees," said Dave Thomas, Executive Vice President, ARCADIS U.S. Operations. "Our services can include hands-on inspections in the field as well as data management services, all core competencies of ARCADIS utilized by several Corps Districts."
The ARCADIS services provided under the new contract will support the National Levee Inspection Program, primarily within the geographical boundary of the Mississippi Valley Division and is anticipated to be used on a nation-wide basis.
