FrogTape® brand painter's tape is releasing step-by-step how-to videos that demonstrate methods for achieving a variety of painting effects and finishes reminiscent of New Orleans – the setting for Disney's most recent animated blockbuster, "The Princess and the Frog."
Using a historic New Orleans home as the setting, New Orleans-based decorative painter, David Freidlaender, shows viewers the basics of using painter's tape, along with how to use a variety of finishes to achieve dramatic looks and camouflage wall imperfections. Techniques covered include:
- Fresco technique that gives walls an old world feel similar to the look of parchment paper
- Striping finishes designed to give rooms a rich look
- Using painter's tape to create the illusion of wainscoting often found in classic New Orleans mansions
FrogTape brand is the only painter's tape treated with PaintBlock® Technology – a technology that allows FrogTape users to achieve crisp, clean paint lines and save time and money by eliminating the need for touch-ups. PaintBlock Technology forms a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, preventing paint from bleeding under the tape and keeping paint lines neat and clean. It's these clean, crisp lines that make creating professional looking finishes and details, like those found in the videos, possible.
Each how-to video, available at FrogTape.com, will be between 1 and 2 minutes, providing quick guidance and easy reference as users proceed with implementing the techniques shown.
In addition to the videos, FrogTape created a promotion with "The Princess and the Frog" Blu-Ray® and DVD. Consumers are eligible for a $5 mail-in rebate when they purchase one (1) roll of 24mm, 36mm or 48mm FrogTape and "The Princess and the Frog" on Blu-Ray or DVD. "The Princess and the Frog" Blu-Ray and DVD is available March 16, 2010.
FrogTape brand can be purchased at all Lowe's stores, Sherwin-Williams store locations and other fine paint and hardware retailers across the United States with a suggested retail price of $6 to $12 depending on the size of the tape. Visit FrogTape.com for more information.
