New Director of RIBA Professional Services appointed

The RIBA is delighted to announce that Nicholas Taylor has been appointed as the Executive Director of RIBA Professional Services Ltd, joining in July 2005.

RIBA Professional Services promotes excellence in architecture and provides through-life support of architects. Its key responsibilities include professional education and development, research, practice support, membership and client services, and the RIBA's regional network.

Currently running Metro Broadcast Ltd, part of the WPP Group, Nicholas Taylor read PPE at Oxford then developed a career in consultancy and management in the creative industries. Before joining WPP he was Managing Partner of Luther Pendragon Ltd, a strategic communications consultancy.

Announcing the appointment, RIBA Group Chief Executive Richard Hastilow said: "RIBA Professional Services is already doing a fine job for the public, the profession and clients. Nick will take the company to a new level of achievement. He is just the kind of talented young business leader we sought for this key role."

Jack Pringle, Chairman of the Professional Services Board and President-Elect, warmly welcomed the appointment: "Nick's commercial skills and passion for architecture should be a winning combination for this growing company at the heart of the RIBA's operations."
