ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consultancy, design, engineering and management services company, announced today that a joint venture of Malcolm Pirnie and its partner PIKA has been awarded a Worldwide Environmental Services (WERS) contract by the U.S Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. Since July 2009, Malcolm Pirnie is a wholly owned subsidiary of ARCADIS. The Contract, to support munitions response, hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste remediation services, has a shared capacity of $1.1 billion.
The PIKA-Pirnie joint venture is one of seven companies that were awarded this Small Business Set-Aside 5-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The WERS contract will be used for investigation through remediation of Active and Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) of military installations and Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) with munitions and/or hazardous waste.
