Atlas Copco Announces Expansion of Care Concept for Equipment Maintenance

The global slowdown in many sectors of the mining and construction industries has increased the focus on ensuring maximum uptime and low cost preventive maintenance of both existing and new equipment. Atlas Copco’s Care concept more than meets the requirements.

Atlas Copco’s Care concept for equipment maintenance has been expanded and now also covers underground equipment such as Scooptram loaders as well as drill rigs and rock drills.

Today, the company’s service packages: Scoop Care, Rig Care, ROC Care and COP Care for both surface and underground equipment are market leaders, providing scheduled service intervals, detailed inspection protocols and extended warranties to an increasing number of customers around the world.

scoop Care

Scoop Care is designed to protect everything that is essential to the loading, tramming and hauling functions of an underground fleet, delivering preventive care that maximizes availability and productivity. The agreement also covers Minetruck trucks.

Peter Trimmel, Product Manager, says: “These underground vehicles are subject to a great deal of wear and tear in rigorous mining operations and the availability of this equipment is essential to productivity. Scoop Care maximizes availability and guarantees reliability. That puts the mine manager’s mind at rest as he can stop worrying about the possibility of unpleasant surprises in terms of unscheduled downtime and unexpected costs.”

Rig Care and COP Care

The Rig Care and COP Care agreements are designed to keep “front line” drilling equipment in peak condition, and are also based on scheduled service, inspection protocols and preventive maintenance.

Similarly, Rig Care ensures optimum performance and maximum availability with scheduled inspections, factory-recommended preventive maintenance and regular servicing to keep the rig in peak condition.

Both agreements offer an extended warranty of three years or 3 000 hours of operation/impact hours.

“Our Care service agreements are rapidly becoming the standard way to keep equipment in peak condition, which these days is becoming more and more important for our customers,” says Olle Lundstorp, Product Manager. This way, our customers will avoid the extra costs of unexpected breakdowns and can rest assured that their equipment will always be well taken care of.”
