Consumers now have an entirely new way to look at a stone’s place in architecture, design and décor. Style-minded homeowners and design professionals alike have a go-to resource – Perspectives.
Charles Luck’s inaugural design and architectural trend report illustrates how key design and architectural trends, ranging from New Modern to Artisan, are interpreted in stone. It is targeted to clients who have an appreciation for distinctive, simple, classic design that speaks to form and function.
Perspectives is the result of collaboration with industry analysts, cultural and socioeconomic research, and trend spotting the fashion, furniture, art, textile and luxury markets for what’s important and relevant in the world of design today. An annual forecast, Perspectives provides an analysis of key factors that impact purchase behavior and design preferences, including economic sobriety, globalization of markets and the growing consumer responsibility movement. The publication also offers consumers insight into five current design themes: Authenticity, New Modern, Whiteness, Eco Design and Artisan and traces each theme’s translation in overall design and stone preferences specifically.
Mark Fernandes, president of the Charles Luck Stone Center, commented: “The impetus behind Perspectives is a result of our desire to elevate and advance the standards for stone and design and to equip the industry with meaningful knowledge about the latest trends.” Fernandes added, “We strive to strike the perfect balance between inspiring our clients with originality, quality and inspired style while remaining committed to our classical roots and responsible use of our products.”
Peter Fraser, architect and founder of Fraser Design, commented: “Perspectives represents Charles Luck’s continued leadership and articulation of the vision we worked to set beginning with the studio locations.” Fraser added, “Perspectives illustrates Charles Luck’s attention to the market and client base as well as its brand position and distinctive approach.”
Perspectives examines current behavioral patterns, style preferences and macro influences and translates these findings first into general design themes and then considers natural stone’s role in these spaces. Heidi LaSalata, brand manager for the Charles Luck Stone Center, said, “Perspectives also informs our portfolio, bringing purpose and meaning to the products that we are introducing.” LaSalata added, “Our intent is for Perspectives to inspire our clients and partners while providing them with knowledge that fuels their creative process.”
The creation of Perspectives also influenced the design sensibilities and architecture of the Charles Luck Stone Center web site. The revamped web site, www.charlesluck.com, is design-forward and reflects the trends and themes highlighted in Perspectives. Consumers can learn more about the trends and find specific products that correlate back to each design theme.
