The Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia, Atlanta's leading hotel on the city's Northern rim, announces its certification by Green Globe, the premier international brand for sustainable travel, tourism and related green businesses.
Green Globe Certification CEO, Guido Bauer welcomes Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia into the select group of certified hotels that have chosen to have their green achievements verified against international sustainability standards.
Mr. Bauer said, "Green Globe recognizes that true sustainability is a journey, and Crowne Plaza Perimeter at Ravinia, its management and staff have committed to improving their environment and growing their contribution to the local community."
Craig Hillyard, General Manager of The Crowne Plaza, said, "We have been engaged in a sustainability program for quite some time following the lead of our management company, Crestline Hotels & Resorts, which rolled out its own signature EarthPact program last year. EarthPact, as well as Green Globe, allow us to institute good business practices, facilitating an extensive recycling and composting program, energy and water conservation practices and environmentally friendly purchasing policies that proactively impact the hotel, our guests and the community," added Hillyard.
Sustainable features include Green Meetings, linen reuse program, low-flow showerheads and sink faucets in all guestrooms, and biodegradable cleaning chemicals. Energy efficient lighting was installed in 2008 in all public space, with guestrooms currently on schedule to be converted. The hotel donates partially used guestroom amenities, discarded linen and furniture to local charity organizations.
