Energy Services Company Introduces Weatherization Services to Washington, D.C. Area
Quality Conservation Services, Inc. (QCS), a leading provider of energy services and solutions, today announced it is expanding its GreenSmart Energy Reduction Program® into the Washington, D.C./Maryland/Virginia market. The announcement was made by Tony Montesion, Director of Strategic Planning and Development, and Program Director for the GreenSmart Energy Reduction Program®, from the company’s corporate headquarters in Oak Ridge, New Jersey.
Quality Conservation Services, Inc. has leveraged its extensive experience in demand-side management, weatherization and custom retrofits to develop a program that immediately reduces energy-related costs with short payback periods. The GreenSmart Energy Reduction Program® targets three key areas of energy waste and expense, primarily in the multi-unit residential segment: Water and Sewer, Building Infiltration and Penetration, and Lighting.
“Although we have had active programs in more than a dozen states over the past decade, they were all utility-sponsored, demand-side management programs. This marks the first time we are expanding our footprint outside the New York metropolitan area in our direct B2B category,” stated Montesion. Given the business and housing affiliation between the two regions, Montesion said that positioning QCS in the Washington, D.C. market is a natural transition.
Property owners wanted to see an approach that immediately reduced usage and costs, without large-scale construction and with minimal impact to building operations. “The GreenSmart Energy Reduction Program® was developed based on feedback from property owners, for property owners,” said Montesion. “Although we anticipate some geographical differences, the program had considered market expansion in the initial business model,” he added.
