SL4500 Now Available in a Light Configuration

Kobelco has added a Light Configuration version of its recently launched SL4500 crawler crane, which reduces the maximum capacity from 400t to 300t.

The Light Configuration's base machine is reduced in width to 2.5m (from 3m) for easier transportation, although the boom base remains the same. A dedicated tapered luffing main boom and jib is used and the counterweight is reduced by 80t to 151t.

While the Light machine is easier to transport and faster to set up (because of fewer counterweights), the hoisting winches are the same as the standard unit. Performance with a 60m jib is identical to the standard machine once the working radius exceeds 15m, although it lags behind when the 66m luffing jib is in use.
