Drywall market leader, British Gypsum, has launched an improved version of its popular Gyproc FireStrip intumescent fire protection strip, which offers both easier fixing and better adhesion for use in metal framed wall systems where there is a need to maintain a fire seal between the system and the structure.
Designed specifically for fire sealing deflection heads in the company’s high performance GypWall and ShaftWall systems, the new Gyproc FireStrip is now wound in 3.6 metre lengths on rigid card reels, with greaseproof interlinings, making application to metal head channels quicker and more precise. The adhesion properties of the strip are also significantly improved, ensuring it remains firmly in place during system installation.
In a fire situation, the new Gyproc FireStrip will intumesce, expanding to between 150 and 300% of its original thickness to form a continuous seal of the system to the structure, and ensuring that system fire performance is maintained.
New Gyproc FireStrip, which has been repackaged in fully printed, clearly branded protective boxes to improve product identification and prevent damage during storage and on-site, is now available as part of the Gyproc accessories range from leading builders merchants and specialist distributors.
