Housing Corporation and Leading Architects Set to Meet

Leading UK and international architects will meet at a seminar hosted by The Housing Corporation with the Royal Institute of British Architects to discuss their future involvement in affordable housing design.

The event will take place at the RIBA Portland Street HQ  on 3 March 2008, and will be addressed by RIBA President Sunand Prasad, Housing Corporation Chair of Investment, Sir Duncan Michael and Chief Executive Steve Douglas. The event will be chaired by Dr. Richard Hill, Housing Corporation Director of Investment.

Over 50 leading and up-and-coming practices, including some internationally renowned names from within the architectural community are attending the invitation only event. A wide ranging debate is expected.

Housing Corporation Chair of Investment Sir Duncan Michael said: "We are aiming to engage the interest, support and participation of outstanding architects in shaping England's housing for the next generation. Participation of top architects in the past has been somewhat lacking, we are confident that this forum can help to break down barriers and encourage more of the leading firms to get involved."
