Award Winning New Development Showcased at CABE’s Exciting New Exhibition

Bourbon Lane, Octavia Housing and Care’s award-winning new development is being showcased at CABE’s exciting new exhibition “Competitions Work”.

The development is being featured as a prime example of how design competitions can deliver bold, innovative solutions to housing across the UK.

The Bourbon Lane scheme was completed in August 2007, and is the result of an Anglo-French competition - run by CABE - which aimed to develop best practice in the design of affordable housing in both the UK and France through experimental projects.

This award winning, £11 million scheme is an exemplary model for affordable housing, using the highest architectural standards and achieving the highest urban quality.

Grahame Hindes, Chief Executive of Octavia Housing and Care said: “Our tenants deserve the best and there is no room for poorly designed new housing in our stock. Octavia Housing and Care is committed to creating homes where people want to live. Bourbon Lane is a fantastic example of this kind of innovation”.

Matthew Turner, senior regional advisor at CABE, added: “We are delighted to see schemes such as Bourbon Lane come to fruition. Exemplar projects such as this highlight the need for good design in housing.”

The exhibition runs from 17 January to 14 February at The Building Centre in Central London.
