New Certification Mark from BRE for Sustainable Construction and Energy Use

BRE Global Limited (part of the BRE Group) will be launching a new certification mark at this month's Interbuild exhibition.  The new mark will be used primarily for sustainability, energy and construction related certification and will help specifiers and designers to cut through the greenwash surrounding the environmental performance of some products and services.

Chief Executive of BRE Global Carol Atkinson said ‘the new certification mark has been designed to complement our new name ‘BRE Global Limited' (formerly BRE Certification Limited). Both the new name and the mark have come about because we needed to better reflect our growing range of business activities, and the increasing importance of our international and sustainability businesses.  Both the name and the mark have been designed to reinforce our mission of ‘Protecting People, Property and the Planet'.

We will continue to strongly promote our existing brands, marks and listings including:

  • LPCB, (independent third party approvals body offering certification of fire and security products and services)
  • the BREEAM family (environmental assessment methods and tools for construction professionals)
  • the Red and Green Books (listing certified Fire and Security Products and sustainability related products and services respectively)

These changes do not affect our agreements with our existing customers.

We will be illustrating this mark on our stand D60 at Interbuild, and there are opportunities each day for delegates at BRE seminars to hear about it at the exhibition.
