Pentagon Says Yes to Space Based Solar Power Plan

The Pentagon has released a report backing further investiation into producing massive satellite that would generate solar electricity day and night and in all weathers.


The ambitious plan was first floated in the 1960's but deemed to challenging. Even now huge obstacle need to be overcome to make it a reality - such as reducing the cost of actually putting the components into orbit.
