CB Cleveland Formed to Help Keep Housing Costs in Check

The Cleveland housing market has traditionally provided an excellent value to new home purchasers. It's no secret that the down market has taken its toll on the local economy. As a result of recent mortgage woes and an uncertain economic prospects, many builders are scratching their heads wondering how to remain competitive.

One group of Cleveland area builders have banded together with a novel idea to provide local homebuyers with a distinct advantage.

CB Cleveland is a buying group which has been created to obtain purchasing power that has to date only been reserved for large national builders. By collectively negotiating their purchasing, they reduce material costs and are able to pass the savings on to consumers. Area homebuyers benefit by getting the low pricing they see from national builders along with the one-on-one service of a local builder.

CB Cleveland is composed of a number of east side and west side builders who are committed to supporting our local economic interests and Cleveland area families.

When you buy a home from a local builder, it doesn't just affect the builder but all those who are involved in the home building process. In fact, over 100 local families are affected by the sale of each home in the Cleveland area built by a local builder.

CB Cleveland members read like a "who's who" in the local building industry. Eleven CB members are on the Homebuilders Association of Greater Cleveland's 2007 Boards of Trustees. Enzo Profetto of Enzoco Homes, George Davis or ProBuilt Homes, Rick Colwell of Little Mountain Homes, Bill Martin of Barrington Homes, Tom Ream of Ream Group, Chris Tsonton of Pepperwood Home Builders, Dan Greco of the Greco Building Group, Michael Pearl of Colony Home Builders, David Payne of Payne & Payne Builders, Jeff Budzowski of Tower Park Construction and Bo

CB Cleveland members also include three past presidents of the HBA of Greater Cleveland. Bill Martin of Barrington Homes who was the association president in 2002, Michael Pearl of Colony Home Builders who served as president in 2005 and Chuck Kuenzig of Kay Homes who held the office in 1997.

Three CB Cleveland members are current executive officers and in line to be president of the Cleveland HBA as well. Bo Knez of Knez Homes is the current vice-president and will be president in 2008. Jeff Budzowski of Tower Park Construction is the current treasurer and will assume the presidency in 2009. David Payne of Payne & Payne Builders is serving as secretary and will serve as association president in 2010.
