New Regional Director for Southern England Announced by English Partnership

David Edwards has been appointed Regional Director for Southern England at the national regeneration agency English Partnerships, it was announced today.

Mr Edwards is currently Head of Regeneration, Land and Property at the Department for Communities and Local Government and will take up his new role at English Partnerships in July. He will take over Trevor Beattie’s regional responsibilities, allowing Mr Beattie to concentrate on his existing role as Director of Corporate Strategy and his work on the transition to Communities England.

Commenting on his appointment, David Edwards said, "I am delighted to accept this delivery-focused role that will enable me to take forward English Partnerships’ diverse portfolio of projects across Southern England. It is an exciting time in regeneration and housing, particularly with the future opportunities that Communities England will present, working with Local Authorities, RDAs, housing associations and the private sector.”

English Partnerships Chief Executive, John Walker, said, “David will bring exceptional experience to the role, not only in respect of his professional background, but his understanding of the strategic and political context for Housing and Regeneration leading to the establishment of Communities England.”

David Edwards, a chartered surveyor, economist and planner with a background in development and policy, will join the agency's Executive Management Board and be responsible for projects in the south east and south west spanning from the growth area of Ashford in Kent as far as Camborne, Pool and Redruth in Cornwall.
