House Price Index Published on the Land Registry's Website

The latest monthly House Price Index will be published today at 11:00 on Land Registry's website http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/houseprices/.

March's figures show one of the highest annual rises in almost two years with the average house price in England and Wales at £178,423, increasing the Index to 216.9. This is up one per cent on February's figures when the average price was £177,099. This is an annual increase on 8.3 per cent.

Brighton and Hove is the county with the highest annual price change with an increase of 14.7 per cent. The county with the lowest annual rise was Nottinghamshire with an increase of 1.9 per cent.
