LEED Green Building Certification Awarded to Xilinx

Xilinx, Inc. the world's leading provider of programmable logic, today announced that its latest building renovation at its San Jose Headquarters has achieved the LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.

"Xilinx continues to look for new and innovative techniques to preserve the environment. Ultimately a LEED-certified building costs less to operate and maintain, is energy- and water efficient, creates a healthier environment for our employees, and is a physical demonstration of our core values," said Forrest James, Sr. Director of Corporate Real Estate, Facilities and Workplace Services at Xilinx.

"Xilinx is to be commended for achieving LEED certification. This facility is one that both the community and its customers can be proud of," said Rick Fedrizzi, President, CEO, Founding Chair, U.S. Green Building Council. "Xilinx will be a showcase for energy efficient and resource friendly buildings that are healthier for the environment and an inspiration to others."
