A range of pipe and fittings has been installed in a luxury apartment block as part of Crosby Homes’ impressive Greenquarter development scheme, located in Manchester’s city centre.
Both our Wefatherm and Akatherm systems were specified for the Jefferson Place apartments, as part of the exciting project that involves the regeneration of almost eight acres of run-down industrial land, into the first mixed-use development in Manchester city centre.
Wefatherm pipework in sizes ranging from 40mm to 125mm, was specified by Crookes Walker Consultants to meet the needs of the boosted cold water supply, which is distributed from the car park basement to the 309 apartments within the building.
Project Manager, Darren McVeigh from Hirst & Danson Mechanical and Electrical Limited commented: “Wefatherm is an ideal system to work with on-site, particularly on a development such as Greenquarter that requires high volumes of individual parts. It is a lightweight system that is easy to transport and install, which results in reduced labour time and costs.”
Akatherm HDPE was also specified by Crookes Walker Consultants, in sizes from 110mm to 160mm for all soil waste and rainwater roof drainage installed for both the lower basement levels and main rises of the tower.
Darren continues: “This is the first time that I have specified both the Wefatherm and Akatherm systems, and I’m delighted with the quality of the products and also the customer service that I have received from Durapipe UK. I will definitely use these systems on future projects.”
Wefatherm and Akatherm also offered added benefits to Greenquarter, in the form of corrosion-free properties, which help to increase overall product lifecycle expectancy and reduce maintenance and replacement costs.
When complete, Greenquarter will include seven luxury apartment blocks, 100,000 square feet of office space, a stunning 280 bedroom hotel and New Century Park, an attractive open public space.
