CERAM Makes Analytical Acquisition

CERAM the internationally renowned centre for materials and technology, based in Stoke-on-Trent, has acquired 100% of UK Analytical Ltd, of Leeds.

This acquisition will result in an even broader range of analytical services in areas such as building technology and testing.

Prof Geoff Edgell, head of CERAM’s Building Technology Division said: “We have long been recognised for our testing expertise within the construction industry and we have been looking to expand our analytical services for some time. Our strong testing credentials sit well with the extra analytical expertise that UK Analytical can provide.”

UK Analytical has been in operation for 18 years, and provides services to the construction, minerals and power generation industries.

James Noon of UK Analytical added; “Clients from both companies will be able to benefit from the extensions to services and UK Analytical clients can get direct access to an extensive range of specialist equipment and scientists, which were beyond the means of a small company”.

Operations will continue from both CERAM’s HQ in Stoke and UK Analytical’s Leeds base. This will allow both companies to continue to offer local as well as national service to their strong client bases.

The acquisition is part of a planned expansion by CERAM, and is one of a number of projects that will conclude over the coming weeks and months, both in the UK and overseas.
