Sustainable Housing Report Writing Tool

Sustainability Works is a powerful online tool to help housing providers meet the challenge of environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

The free site was developed in association with leading housing associations, the Housing Corporation, the National Housing Federation and the Building Research Establishment and is divided into two parts:

  • Background information on best practice and research
  • Reports for assistance in policy writing, target setting and review

The background information covers themes of buildings, energy, land use, landscape, society, travel, waste and water with clear guidance and latest research findings, as well as costs, benefits, links to further information and case studies.

The Reports section is a secure online application that allows organisations to write and store their own reports, policies and targets for sustainable development. The Sustainability Works recommendations can be used to quickly assemble a sustainable development policy tailored to your own organisation or generate individual project reports for development projects.

Reports can also be generated that predict the EcoHomes rating of individual projects, satisfy the requirements of the Housing Corporation's Sustainability Toolkit and help with Housing Quality Indicator (HQI) submissions.
