Pittsburgh-based L.B. Foster Company (Nasdaq: FSTR) announced that it recently supplied 4,200 tons of PZC 14 steel sheet piling to the DuPont, Delisle Plant in Pass Christian, MS.
According to Ernie Koehler, L.B. Foster Piling Sales Representative, "Cajun Constructors Inc. provided installation services protecting a substantial portion of the perimeter of the entire Delisle chemical plant, the second largest titanium dioxide facility in the world, with 9,200 wall feet of piling. The steel sheet piling was installed at this industrial site to prevent future storm surge flooding."
DuPont's Project Manager, Duane Wilson, commented, "This project was very important to DuPont and to the Delisle plant. L.B. Foster responded very well in providing a large quantity of sheet piling in a short time, and Cajun performed very well as the installation contractor. The dedicated project team DuPont put together really did a great job coordinating all of our supporting suppliers and contractors. Due to the good work from alln involved, this project was completed under budget, ahead of schedule and provided much needed protection for the 2006 hurricane season and beyond. And most importantly, the job was completed injury-free."
Chris Thompson, Project Manager for Cajun Constructors, Inc., offered, "With hurricane season upon us, the Flood Wall project in Delisle was very critical time wise to DuPont. The configuration of the PZC 14 interlocks, coupled with the width of the sheets, enabled us to complete this project 30% faster than what we originally anticipated. The result was a very successful project for Cajun and DuPont."
Per Don Foster, Senior Vice President, Construction Products at L.B.Foster, "The PZC line of sheet piling is unique in the marketplace. PZC is the only domestically produced wider, lighter and stronger sheet piling section engineered with the easy to drive ball and socket interlock. The L.B. Foster/Chaparral team brings to the industry a wide range of innovative and cost effective sheet piling solutions."
