Parsons Commercial Technology to Merge with 3D/I

Chuck Harrington, President of Parsons Commercial Technology Group, and Chuck Thomsen, Chairman of 3D/International (3D/I) announced today the signing of a merger agreement.

“3D/I is a nationally respected leader in the design, condition assessment, and construction management of educational and public buildings and their systems,” said Harrington. “Their reputation for innovation will make an important contribution to the Parsons family of companies.”

Once the merger is completed, 3D/I will become a subsidiary of Parsons. The merger is subject to customary conditions, including shareholder approval: 3D/I shareholders are scheduled to meet to approve the board's recommendation on May 12, 2006.

“Parsons will provide many additional skills to offer to our existing clients,” said Thomsen. “Our leadership is enthusiastic about this merger because Parsons is employee-owned, their core business is design and construction, they have an excellent reputation, and they will be able to provide many new opportunities for our staff in both domestic and international markets.”
