Balfour Beatty Construction and its BARC joint venture partners, including Azteca Enterprises, H.J. Russell & Company, and CARCON Industries, have been honored with a prestigious national award for the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Terminal A Phase II Renovation and Improvement Program.
Engineering News-Record (ENR) recognized the project with its national ‘Best of the Best Projects’ award in the Airport/Transit category. ENR is a leading trade magazine dedicated to honoring the best construction projects across the United States.
“We are honored to be nationally recognized for our team’s work on the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Terminal A Phase II,” said Karl Joeris, vice president at Balfour Beatty Construction. “The massive 400,000-square-foot renewal program impresses in sheer scale, intricate planning and execution. Congratulations to all the project stakeholders who worked together to drive the project’s success as receiving this award is a pinnacle of design and construction achievement.”
ENR received more than 750 entries from which 20 projects were chosen based on teamwork, safety, overcoming challenges, innovation, and quality. Of note, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Terminal A Phase II was one of only four ENR Texas and Louisiana regional projects chosen to receive national recognition. The project team will be honored in New York City at the Marriott Marquis Times Square during the Award of Excellence Gala Dinner on April 7.
Additional awards for which the project has been recognized include a TEXO Distinguished Building Award, a Construction Management Association of America Project Achievement Award, and an ENR Texas and Louisiana Regional Best Project Award.
