YIT Awarded EUR 10 Million Contract for Construction of New Business Premises in Kuopio, Finland

YIT has signed a contract with Pohjola Insurance Ltd on the construction of a business premises project in Kuopio, Finland. The value of the contract for YIT is over EUR 10 million. The construction will start directly and the project will be completed in summer 2017. The four-floor premises will have around 5,300 floor square metres, of which two thirds will be used by OP Financial Group’s Omasairaala private hospital and the rest will serve as an office space.

“We have managed to get the region’s best players and our well-known partners to come in on the Omasairaala project. The project will bring an imposing landmark for traffic coming from south to Kuopio on a plot that has been empty for a long time. Omasairaala is a regionally significant project for YIT also in terms of employment. We look forward to a busy and versatile construction year”, says Risto Pennanen, Vice President at YIT.

“We are pleased that the construction of OP’s third Omasairaala hospital will now be started in Kuopio. The location of the premises is central with good transport connections and the new premises are designed to meet the demanding requirements of a hospital. The project is a continuation to the well-functioning cooperation with YIT”, says Markku Mäkiaho, CEO, Pohjola Property Management Ltd.
