Jacobs Part of Consortium to Deliver Study for Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High Speed Rail Project

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it is part of a consortium led by professional services firm KPMG that has delivered a study for the Singapore Government comprising possible financing and operating models for the proposed High Speed Rail (HSR) project linking Singapore with Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

As Technical Consultant, Jacobs has provided consulting services regarding ridership and revenue forecasts.

The Kuala Lumpur–Singapore HSR would span approximately 350km and require the construction of a new rail line. Once completed, travel time by HSR between the two cities would be approximately 90 minutes.

Upon making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Kevin McMahon said, “Jacobs has contributed to HSR projects around the world, including several in the UK, Hong Kong and Europe. This is a landmark project for the region that aims to significantly reduce travel times between these popular centers of business, and we are delighted to be playing a role in making it happen.”

Jacobs is one of the world’s largest and most diverse providers of technical professional and construction services.
