Tutor Perini Corporation, a leading civil and building construction company, today announced that its specialty contracting subsidiary, Five Star Electric, has recently been awarded three contracts collectively valued at approximately $141 million. These contracts will be included as part of the Company’s reported fourth-quarter backlog.
South Ferry Subway Station Upgrade Project / Contract Value: $88.0 million
Five Star Electric was awarded an $88-million subcontract by Judlau Contracting, Inc. for the South Ferry Subway Station Upgrade project in Lower Manhattan. During Superstorm Sandy in October 2012, the South Ferry Station was severely damaged by flooding, which destroyed all of the station’s electrical and mechanical systems, including escalators, turnstiles, and signals. The electrical scope of work will include renovation of the overall electrical infrastructure within the station and tunnel area, including lighting, power, fire alarm, security, communications, fiber optics, signaling, and traction power work. Construction started earlier this month and substantial completion is anticipated by June 2017. The project owner is the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) - New York City Transit.
Riverside Center Building 5 / Contract Value: $32.4 million
Five Star Electric was awarded a $32.4-million subcontract by Tishman Construction to perform all the electrical installation work as part of the construction of a new 940,000-square-foot, 42-story high-end residential tower that will include 361 apartments, amenity spaces, a fitness center, parking garage and retail space. The electrical scope of work will include installation of all lighting, fire alarm, normal and emergency building power systems. Construction started earlier this month and substantial completion is anticipated by June 2017. The project owner is El-Ad Group and Silverstein Properties.
610 Lexington Avenue / Contract Value: $20.6 million
Five Star Electric was awarded a $20.6-million subcontract by Pavarini McGovern, LLC to perform all the electrical installation work as part of the construction of a new 320,000-square-foot, 61-story high-end residential tower that will include 99 apartments, amenity spaces, a fitness center, and commercial and retail space. The electrical scope of work will include all lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, and normal and emergency building power systems. Construction started earlier this month and substantial completion is anticipated by December 2016. The project owner is 610 Lexington Ave, LLC.
