Tutor Perini’s Subsidiary Wins New Construction Projects

Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), a leading civil and building construction company, today announced that its subsidiary, Perini Management Services, Inc. (PMSI), has been awarded $44 million worth of task orders under a previously announced Department of the Interior (DOI) multiple award task order contract (MATOC).

The contract has a $400 million ceiling over a five year period and is available to all agencies within the DOI.

In the first year of this program, Perini Management Services, Inc. has received task orders from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, the National Park Service and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, with work being performed in 13 states, extending from the East Coast to Idaho and Arizona. The projects represent a variety of construction work including design-build of new facilities, mechanical / electrical upgrades, alternative energy installations, and historic preservation.

The most recent task order awards include:

Riverside Indian School Replacement Dormitory, Phase 1 was awarded on September 22, 2010. The $12 million design-build project will provide new living space for 200 students at the Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, OK. This is one of the oldest Indian boarding schools in the country and serves children from more than 120 different tribes. Holleyman Associates of Oklahoma City, OK will provide the architectural and engineering design services. The project will be designed and constructed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Wide Ruins Community School was awarded on September 30, 2010. This $23 million design-build project will provide new academic, administrative, maintenance and housing facilities at an existing school for the Navajo Nation in Wide Ruins, AZ. Dyron Murphy Architects, P.C. of Albuquerque, NM is the lead design firm. The school and dormitory buildings will attain LEED Silver certification.

Other notable projects include the rehabilitation of four dams at the Vanderbilt Mansion Historic Site in Hyde Park, NY, the installation of a wind turbine and a photovoltaic system at the Lowell National Historic Park in Lowell, MA and installation of geothermal systems at Fort Necessity National Battlefield and Johnstown Flood National Memorial in Pennsylvania.
