After months of planning, The McCaffrey Group's Tesoro Viejo, an innovative master-planned community in Southeastern Madera County, is progressing on schedule with the unanimous approval of its first Village by the Madera County Planning Commission.
"The Tesoro Viejo, master planned community, is a first-class development project we can all be proud of. Not only will it offer homebuyers a quality home built by leaders in the industry, but it will also remedy the housing needs throughout Madera County -- which is one of the fastest growing areas in the nation," said Max Rodriguez, Madera County Supervisor.
"The community will add value and amenities to support continued growth, generate thousands of jobs and sustain a vibrant environment. I am very excited to see this project come to fruition and very proud of the public and private partnerships that have made it possible," concluded Rodriguez.
Just off Highway 41 in the heart of Madera's planned growth area in southeastern Madera County, Tesoro Viejo will be developed by The McCaffrey Group and Lyles United.
Tesoro Viejo is a breathtaking site of about 1,600 acres of gently rolling hills and vistas. The community is situated at the foot of Little Table Mountain and has been thoughtfully designed to capture its scenic surroundings, offering residents views of the sloping hillsides and the dramatic Sierra foothills.
"We feel fortunate to have acquired such a beautiful piece of land. Tesoro Viejo will be a very special place, unlike any other community in the Central San Joaquin Valley. We have worked hard with the staff and leaders of Madera County to retain the best qualities of the land in terms of natural beauty, sustainable planning and agricultural values," said Robert McCaffrey, CEO of The McCaffrey Group.
A model of innovative design and sustainable living, Tesoro Viejo will be a vibrant hub for southeastern Madera County with housing and business opportunities, a walkable Town Center, green living, thriving industry and neighborhood parks and schools where residents can live, work and play.
Translated from Spanish to mean "old treasure" -- Tesoro Viejo will blend seamlessly with the rich natural resources that abound throughout the region. The community will allow for more than 15 miles of scenic nature trails to foster lifelong opportunities for healthy living, outdoor activities and family-friendly fun.
The new community will offer an unparalleled balance of residential, civic, commercial, and industrial areas. The community also includes approximately 400 acres of natural open spaces and parks, as well as a recreational clubhouse, elementary school, community medical pavilion, and neighborhood fitness areas. Plans call for seven unique walkable villages with a variety of housing choices ranging from courtyard-living designs to expansive ranch-style hillside estates to fit all lifestyles and family needs.
