Eco Building Products, Inc., announced today that K. Shaw Construction, LLC. of Monmouth County, New Jersey has selected Eco Red Shield protected lumber for use on a residential rebuild in the wake of a recent structure fire.
Having originated between the second and third floors of the home, the compartmentalized fire consumed the lightweight I-Joist building materials which quickly led to deflection, failure and structural collapse.
Steve Conboy, President & Chief Executive Officer of Eco Building Products, Inc. commented that "Kenny Shaw and the firefighters that fought this fire are of like mind; that if Eco Red Shield can give emergency personnel more time to save lives and protect property, it should be incorporated into every residential construction project going forward." This rebuild project will not only highlight the fine craftsmen detail most commonly associated with K. Shaw Construction's projects, it will also feature Eco Red Shield defensive lumber. Mr. Conboy further commented that "At Eco, we are confident that defending lumber from mold, termites and rot is just as important as protection from fire, and we do not need a set of codes to raise the bar; we simply need more professionals like K. Shaw Builders and these firefighters to help support a paradigm shift in American building."
Kenny Shaw, Founder & President of K. Shaw Construction noted that "As the builder responsible for rebuilding this home after a severe fire, we are excited to rebuild with the new, defensive, Eco Red Shield lumber. We are happy that the fireman who fell through the floor was not seriously hurt, and are confident that this new product will help prevent situations like this in the future."
